Finally, the second floor offers a dizzying journey through the chaotic structures of Michael Hanna’s cerebral “cyberpunk” paintings. These compositions bloom (or blast) out of his philosophical musings on technology and contemporary life, as the human race careens toward an increasingly cyborg-like existence.
“My experimental paintings with oil on steel, electronic components and crystals, have an analysis of a deeply exotic, high-tech future in a state of social collapse,” he explained. “The crude fusion becomes metaphorical towards the integration of the synthetic to the natural, biology with technological nightmare.”
